Below is a list of current h2ocoaching staff. As well as these, we also use freelance coaches for freestyle and whitewater. All coaches are BCU qualified, and CRB checked.


Founder, Chris Milbank is a BCU Level 4 Inland kayak Coach. He has paddled and competed in many disciplines, including paddling at international standards at the World Surf Kayak Championships.

Chris has over 15yrs paddling experience with many years working in the outdoor industry, coaching and guiding.

Originally from the Custard country, Chris's habitat is now a stones throw from Hurley weir.

He plans on travelling to more remote destinations, to bring you the ultimate in freeriding trips.


Sian is an accomplished paddler and coach, having paddled several seasons in the Alps, and achieving Level 3 coach status.

As well as running and assisting on many of the whitewater courses, Sian is also available to do female only coaching and assessing. Also a high standard snowboarder and scary on anything with an engine!

Piers was shoved in his first kayak not long after he was born, and since then has continued to perform bigger moves and plung down bigger drops.

Having paddled for the GB squad, he now works for 'system x' and will be found at Hurley whenever its running.
